Dark Lady - Desperately Seeking Love on Mars

Aug 10 2015

NASA’s Curiosity Rover was designed to uncover the mysteries of the Red Planet, and now conspiracy theorists are convinced that the agency has done just this. Recent photographs snapped by the rover’s camera have captured what appears to be an elusive ‘dark lady’ roaming the planet’s rocky surface. They estimate her height is around eight to 10 centimetres.

Searching for companionship?

She looks as though she is gazing into outer space, perhaps wondering whether she’ll ever find true love. Or at least that’s what alien activist group, UFO Sightings Daily claims. They assert that the womanly shape is cold hard proof that there is “life out there” and that NASA could be covering it up.

So what makes UFO Sightings Daily so certain that the dark shape is a woman? In the description they assert that the figure has clearly visible breasts, writing “The woman seems to have breasts...indicated by the shadow on its chest.”

They also maintain that they can see a pair of arms, as well as a head and a long flowing mane of hair. "We also see two arms that are lighter in colour and what looks like a head with long hair,” they add. For UFO Sightings Daily and its fellow believers, the ‘dark lady’ “Should concern every country in the world. There is life out there."

Dead or alive?

While they’re certain that it is a womanly figure of some kind, they do admit it isn’t necessarily animate. "It’s hard to tell if this is a living being, or a statue of a being from long ago.” That said, they are leaning towards the living theory given the fact that the figure is in such good condition. "However, a statue that small would be eroded and destroyed easily, so it has a higher chance of being a living being,” they write. Plus, they claim that it’s "Also it is facing the Mars rover...watching it from a distance.” Creepy!

The ‘dark lady’ comes just days after a similar group claimed that the Curiosity Rover pictures showed a crab like alien hiding in a cave.

If the figure really is a ‘dark lady’ perhaps NASA would want to recruit the bright sparks that identified her.  In the article ‘Release the Inner Superpower by Liberating your Brightest and Best’ authors explore how R&D organisations can unleash their inner superpowers and arm themselves with a competitive edge.
