Science World Celebrates Successful Return to Manchester

Oct 01 2018

Science World, the Fisher Scientific Laboratory Experience, made its successful return to Emirates Old Trafford - Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester on 27 September. The event, hosted by Thermo Fisher Scientific, showcased the latest in laboratory innovations available through Fisher Scientific. Thousands of products were available for attendees to experience, making it an ideal event for anyone working in or around a laboratory.

Highlights from Science World included the following keynote speakers: Alice Roberts who presented ‘Tamed: three species that changed our world - dogs, cattle and horses’, and Adam Rutherford who talked about ‘A brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived’. The event also featured a Safety and Controlled Environment Solutions Area, behind the scenes tours, virtual reality, delicious desserts using liquid nitrogen, a caricaturist, digital magician, photo booth and the chance to win a wireless mobile phone charger.

Leading the way in serving science, the event attracted 278 delegates from across the UK and brought 44 leading suppliers together.

”Customers still want to look at products, touch products and speak with subject matter experts before they make a choice. Even in our digital world, that’s why this event is still hugely important. Our customers may continue to shop online, but they will do so having had the opportunity to interact with the products first,” said John Brear, Sales Director, UK and Ireland for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
