Science World, the Fisher Scientific Laboratory Experience, made its successful launch in France at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg on 29 September. The event, hosted by Thermo Fisher Scientific, showcased the latest in laboratory innovations available through the Fisher Scientific channel. Thousands of products were available for attendees to experience, making it an ideal event for anyone working in or around a laboratory.

Highlights from Science World included the well-known anthropologist Yves Coppens who presented a keynote speech entitled “Origins of Man”; David Lowe, who is best known for his appearances on the popular French television show “On n’est pas que des Cobayes” and delivered a number of scientific experiments throughout the day; and a comprehensive seminar programme that covered 16 topics.

Leading the way in serving science, the event attracted 304 delegates from the Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Loire, Moselle and Paris départements, as well as bringing 47 leading suppliers together.

“We continue to intensify our focus in Europe through the Fisher Scientific channel. Strasbourg signifies an important catchment for us which is why we were able to bring our flagship event closer to our customers and serve them better,” said Christophe Costa, sales director for the Fisher Scientific channel in France.
