The Scotland division of Ockham Oncology received a distinctive community engagement award acknowledging contributions to the regional biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.
The award recognises Ockham’s commitment to community engagement and leadership in 2013. During the year, Scotland-based employees raised money for cancer research and promoted employee health during a company-wide fundraising effort.
Roma Clark, Ockham Oncology’s controller for Europe, accepted the award. Clark was joined by a group of Ockham employees representing finance and clinical operations at the awards ceremony.
“We extend our thanks to Life Sciences Scotland and signal our support for the importance of these competitions in raising awareness of the contributions of the rapidly growing pharmaceutical community in Scotland,” said Jim Baker, CEO of Ockham.
“We are proud to win, of course,” he added. “But more important, we are proud to be part of the remarkable group of winners who are changing the landscape of pharmaceutical research around the world starting here in Scotland.”
Emerging as a major oncology-focused clinical research organization in the global landscape, Ockham Oncology was one of only three companies nominated for the Scottish Enterprise Community Engagement Award.
