Astell Scientific Ltd has upgraded the internal cooling fan mechanism on its AVS machines to provide a more cost effective and reliable method of cooling liquid loads quickly.

Previously, a magnetic coupling drove the in-chamber fan. This has been refined to a fixed rotary shaft with gas seals, which provides a more consistent, higher torque output from the fan whilst also requiring less maintenance.

“The internal cooling fan can more than double the throughput of a fluid and media preparation autoclave, effectively making the steam steriliser as productive as a device twice its size by reducing the cooling part of the cycle by up to 70%,” explained Astell’s Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Birchmore.

Astell Scientific provide customisable autoclaves a wide range of additional options, and can provide solutions to sterilisation challenges that others can’t.
