The medical faculty of the South Korean Yonsei University and Carl Zeiss together opened an Advanced Imaging Centre on April 20. The university has equipped the new centre with Zeiss microscope systems for biomedical research, including the LSM 710 and LSM 700 laser scanning microscopes.
The microscope systems provide the centre with excellent conditions for testing new methods of microscopy. “Our aim is to further promote research and education,” said Peter Tiedemann, President of Carl Zeiss in Korea, during the opening ceremony. Therefore, sales staff from Carl Zeiss will regularly train the scientists on thesystems and help ensure that they can achieve the best results in their specific area of activity. “We attach key importance to the company’s close relationship with top-level research,” Tiedemann continued. “This also provides us with new information on applications and trends, which we can then incorporate in our new product developments.
” The Advanced Imaging Centre will be the annual venue for international workshops aimed at presenting the latest methods in the field of imaging.
