The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult (CGT Catapult) has launched a Technology Advisory Board to guide the industry in adopting and benefiting from innovations in cell and gene therapy. The board will provide independent strategic advice on areas including data and digital technologies, manufacturing, product testing, and patient treatment pathways.
The initiative aims to identify opportunities and remove barriers to the wider deployment of advanced therapies. By anticipating challenges posed by new technologies, the board will help ensure therapies reach patients more efficiently and effectively.
The advisory board brings together experts from academia, industry, and regulation, including Dr Phil Vanek, Founder of Redline Bioadvisors, who chairs the group. Other members include specialists in synthetic biology, regulatory strategy, clinical development, and genomics. Senior CGT Catapult executives will also participate.
Dr Vanek said: “CGT Catapult has played a critical role in shaping the advanced therapy landscape for more than a decade. As the industry evolves, this board will focus on driving efficiency, adoption, and access - in the UK and globally.”
Matthew Durdy, CEO of CGT Catapult, added: “We are privileged to have such an extraordinary group advising us. Their guidance will help ensure that the benefits of advanced therapies reach more people worldwide.”
The board reflects CGT Catapult’s commitment to meeting the sector’s technology and innovation needs, supporting collaboration, and overcoming challenges to advance the adoption of transformative therapies.
