EVM16 personalised mRNA cancer vaccine shows early Phase I signals

28 May, 2026

Hong Kong-based Everest Medicines has reported encouraging first-in-human data for its personalised mRNA cancer vaccine EVM16 at AACR 2026, highlighting favourable safety, strong immune activation, and early signs of anti-tumour activity in patients with advanced solid tumours.

The Phase I study, conducted in China, evaluated EVM16 alone and in combination with the PD-1 inhibitor tislelizumab in heavily pre-treated patients. No dose-limiting toxicities were observed, while most patients developed neoantigen-specific T cell responses. One patient with gastroesophageal junction cancer achieved a confirmed partial response, with additional patients showing stable disease.

“As our first in-house developed personalised mRNA cancer vaccine, EVM16 demonstrates the ability to induce immune activation and generate neoantigen-specific T cell responses,” said Rogers Yongqing Luo, Chief Executive Officer of Everest Medicines.

EVM16 is powered by Everest Medicines’ proprietary AI-driven neoantigen prediction platform, designed to identify personalised tumour targets and generate patient-specific mRNA vaccines. The company says the results support further clinical development of the therapy as part of its expanding oncology pipeline.
