A new UK-South Korea collaborative research and development (CR&D) funding competition has been opened by Innovate UK in partnership with the Korean Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).
UK-registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £2 million for developing innovative industrial research proposals with a partner from South Korea and a focus on one or more of the following sectors:
UK applicants can apply for a maximum grant of up to £350,000 for each project. Applications close on July 6, 11.00am with applicants notified on Sept 2.
This follows on from the announcement in January of a similar funding competition structure for investment with projects in partnership with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) which is open until April 20 11.00 am. This covers projects in:
David Golding, Innovate UK’s interim deputy director, global said:
“South Korea is a global leader in sectors such as telecommunications, electronics, transportation and materials,” said David Goulding, Innovate UK’s interim global, deputy director.
“This opportunity, coupled with the one Innovate UK launched with ESG in January, is part of a longer-term, more strategic approach, with both countries, allowing the best of British innovators to team up with their counterparts in two of Asia’s most technologically-advanced nations.”
