Transforming Glycan Analysis

Alongside its leading new full spectrum molecular imaging system (see Editors Silver Award), Waters introduced its ground-breaking new technology for characterising glycoproteins with the new GlycoWorks RapiFluor-MS N-Glycan Kit. The technology includes the Waters ACQUITY UPLC^®, ACQUITY^® UPLC FLR Detector and ACQUITY QDa^® detector and enables scientists to analyse released N-glycans presenting previously unattainable structural information, following fast de-glycosylation, labelling and a workflow that reduces sample preparation time from a day to less than one hour. Mass detection for characterisation and development is reported at sensitivity levels 100 to 1,000-fold better than current approaches, enabling routine laboratory use supported by a simple robust protocol without involving MS experts.

Also now available the Nugenesis^R  Lab Management System offers high impact functionality with recent advances including NuGenesis SampleShare, an optional, secure web-client for sample submissions and results management; NuGenesis Stability, a complete stability protocol management and testing solution to facilitate a consistent regimented workflow across lab operations; NuGenesis Connectors, a bi-directional link between lab systems and business applications, and Paradigm™ Scientific Search, a fully integrated scientific search solution for text, documents and science objects.

The company has also extended its range of columns for the ACQUITY UPC²  system with new additions to its analytical columns for chiral and achiral separations designed to optimise convergence chromatography with its ACQUITY UPC² Trefoil^TM 2.5 micron particle columns for increased speed and selectivity in chiral separations and the ACQUITY² Torus^TM range for achiral separations feature 1.7 micron particle technology.
