Metrohm launches the 894 Professional CVS, a milestone in instrumental analysis for the determination of additives in electroplating baths. Superior flexibility of the system hardware and a powerful new software make the 894 Professional CVS the new benchmark in CVS.

The new 894 Professional CVS is entirely modular by design giving users almost unlimited possibilities for system configuration. Just like a modular kit, the 894 Professional CVS can be modified and/or upgraded at any time with additional components such as dosing systems, pumps, and sample changers. Thus, a manually operated system with limited capacity may be upgraded step by step and grown into a fully automated system processing large sample series 24/7.

The 894 Professional CVS is controlled by viva; a new, powerful software developed for the requirements of the determination of additives in electroplating. viva gives the user complete access to all operational parameters making the programming of his/her own methods very simple. To do so, users simply add command by command on the graphic user interface following the sequence of steps of the respective application.

viva supports the user with whole range of intelligent functions for more ease of use and reliability of measurements and results. For example, the software checks the plausibility of any sequence of commands, and, if not plausible, suggests possible solutions. Operator errors are therefore all but ruled out. Users, who don’t want to program their own methods find the most important methods pre-installed for manual, partially automated, or fully automated system operation.

Convenient data management is provided by the many support functions of the viva database. For example, determinations already carried out can be recalculated at any time and custom reports can be created. In the client-server version viva enables central data management. A sophisticated user administration enables definition and management of access rights providing for effective protection of any data.
