Giving Cancer the Boot

2018 marks the 75th anniversary of Metrohm and as part of the celebrations Metrohm UK held a charity 5-a-side football tournament in Manchester. 11 teams took part including customers from all over the UK, as well as Metrohm staff from across Europe and competed for the chance to win £1000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

The winning team, Exova Jones Environmental from Deeside in Flintshire chose to donate the prize money to The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

By supporting the charity, Exova and Metrohm will help to transform cancer care for people right across the region. Last year, work began on building Liverpool's first cancer hospital in the heart of the city, backed by a £15 million appeal, which will also ensure significant investment in their Wirral site.

Clatterbridge is a cause that has a great personal meaning to two of the team members at Exova, who have raised a lot of money for the charity in the past. The team comprises of staff from different departments at Exova plus an ex-colleague. They play twice a week in their local area, demonstrated by their proficiency on the pitch.
