The Microscience Microscopy Congress 2014 is warming up  for its opening dates – Monday 30th June –  Thursday 3rd July with two Plenary Sessions and a reception, followed by three days packed with great science and great exhibits. The scientific programme promises a healthy balance of life and physical science and light and electron microscopy, as well as embracing a number of established annual meetings, with as visitors can expect, scanning probe microscopy and cytometry both well represented.

Mmc2014 will also be the focal point for the Royal Microscopical Society’s 175th anniversary. The celebrations will include a party and awards for an outstanding line-up of Plenary Speakers, all of whom will receive Honorary Fellowships from the Society. The list of speakers includes

Life Sciences:

Prof. Mike Sheetz (Columbia University, USA)

Dr. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz (NIH, USA)

Prof. Ernst Stelzer (Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Germany)

Physical Sciences:

Prof. Flemming Besenbacher (Aarhus University, Denmark)

Prof. Ondrej Krivanek (President, Nion Co and Adjunct Professor, Arizona State University, USA)

The first call for papers is available to download: deadline for abstracts 27/02/2014(see website below)

A major exhibition devoted to the interests of over 100 microscopy equipment manufacturers, imaging software suppliers, printer companies and their customers will also take its customary place alongside the conference. Building on 2012's European Microscopy Congress the RMS anticipate that mmc2014 will be bigger and better than ever featuring technical workshops, the RMS Learning Zone  and the poster village. “It is a great chance to see the newest, most advanced products and techniques in microscopy. Take a look at the exhibitor list and floorplan to see who will be there and register your interest.”
