Filter Testing and Standards Conference & Exhibition

Oct 07 2008

The Filter Testing series of conferences takes place approximately every 2 years and is one of the most popular in The Filtration Society`s calendar. The one-day format is attractive to many because it does not intrude too much into the busy schedule of today`s scientist and engineer.

The presentations during the day are carefully designed to maximise the scientific and technical data provided for the delegates. They will be introduced to the latest pioneering research on the measurement and performance of filter media, not just in process optimisation but in compliance to the latest standards.

A very important and popular format of the conference will be the poster session, where the delegates will receive a 5 minute `burst` of information on a wide range of filter testing techniques. Competition for space is always fierce and those expressing an interest so far include Benelux Scientific and Topas (new Porometers), Tecan (calibration standards for Porometers), PMT (particle counters), Anton Paar (Filter Zeta Potential measurements), Clear Edge, Filter Ability Ltd (Practical filter testing) and Nanosight (Particle Sizing in the nanometer range).

All delegates will receive bound notes of the conference and have the opportunity of publishing their lectures in the journal FILTRATION.

The Exhibition

The multi-functional Park Suite enables close integration between the lecture theatre, exhibition areas, refreshments and a lounge for networking. Delegates will therefore be in an ideal situation for discussions with colleagues, presenters and exhibitors.

Those giving PowerPoint poster presentations will also have the opportunity of displaying a hard copy of their work on notice boards provided.

Approximately 100 highly focused international delegates are expected. Although mostly from Europe they have in the past also come from the USA, the African continent and Asia.

The event will be well publicised through several co-sponsorships with leading international magazines.

The number of display tables will be limited to about 20. On the experience of previous conferences, it is recommended that prospective exhibitors apply early to secure a position.
