Choosing the right autoclave for your lab

Selecting the right autoclave for your lab is a major decision. If built well, an autoclave can last beyond the foreseeable future. Designed for laboratories that require robust, reliable and high-efficiency steam sterilisation repeatedly, Priorclave’s autoclaves have a well-earned reputation for quality. The forward-thinking modular design of their autoclaves ensures that it can be upgraded to remain current, which is a valuable consideration.

Priorclave’s Base range covers, as one might expect, ‘the basics’: media preparation, waste loads, and sterilising loose instruments, open containers and labware.

Their Smart range is intended for industrial, research and production labs; suitable for facilities that have more diverse needs. This range of autoclaves can handle all standard tasks (e.g., media prep, waste loads, labware) but also produce drier loads and more reliably handle complex loads that tend to trap air.

The Performance range is designed for high throughput operation (more than four complete cycles every day) and is especially capable of dealing with more challenging loads and items. These jacketed autoclaves are quick to heat and cool rapidly, enabling them to produce drier loads more quickly and reliably, at a lower cost than many comparable sterilisers. This affordable solution enables the most modest lab access to the highest capacity and performance steam autoclaves available.

Whichever range you choose, all of Priorclave’s autoclaves are fitted with their exclusive Tactrol® 3 control system, enabling complex programmes to be run with just the press of a single push-button start, even whilst gloved.

To further enhance the longevity and performance of your autoclave, every exterior epoxy-coated surface has antimicrobial protection incorporated into it; ensuring surfaces remain cleaner for longer, thereby reducing the risk of microbial growth and cross-contamination.
