In-Person Lyo Training Courses Return

Sep 02 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an effect on almost everything, including traditional teaching and learning methods, such as the in-person classroom based training that was the standard for the freeze drying and pharmaceutical industry.

Early on during the Covid-19 crisis, scheduled training courses were put on hold to make way for projects such as developing diagnostics and vaccines which utilised freeze drying to enable a viable and successful production process. It was soon realised that, there was an increased emphasis on learning and education to support the evolving needs of those using freeze drying in their R&D and production. To meet this requirement, Biopharma Group moved its lyo training expertise online via webinars and eLearning video platforms allowing those within the industry to address their training needs via a safe platform/format across multiple locations.

Now that many of those restrictions are starting to lift and travel is becoming easier, Biopharma Group is reintroducing some in-person lyo training courses as an additional option to the ongoing commitment to online and eLearning training course programs.

Having carried out it’s first in-person course since March 2020 in Limerick, Ireland, Biopharma Group has scheduled these lyo training courses to be available through to end of 2021:
•    3 Day Workshop: Winchester, UK - ‘Lyophilisation Technology: Process Development in Practice’
•    2 Day Course: Lyon, France - ‘Apprendre à développer un cycle de lyophilisation’
•    3 Day Comprehensive: Allentown (PA), USA - ‘Lyo Technology -Product, Process & Systems’

Another exciting development this year, is a brand new training course - ‘Fundamentals of Freeze Drying in a Pharmaceutical Context’, an in-depth comprehensive freeze drying course with practical lab sessions that has been accredited by the University of Limerick. This course at completion of assessment is worth 6 (European Credit Transfer System) ECTS Credits at (European Qualification Framework) EQF Level 6 (BSc standard).
