Phoenix MarCom MD Appointed as DECHEMA Delegate

Paul Carter, Managing Director of Phoenix MarCom, becomes the new UK and Ireland Delegate for DECHEMA in time for the crucial run-up to ACHEMASIA 2010. Carter’s main role as DECHEMA Delegate is recruiting British and Irish companies within the chemical and allied industries to exhibit at ACHEMA worldwide events. Carter sees ACHEMASIA 2010 in Beijing as a highly significant opportunity for exhibitors: ‘The Chinese economy has been less hard hit by the global financial crisis than some of the industrialised countries. The International Monetary Fund has forecast 8.5% growth for 2009 and 9% for 2010. One of the driving forces is the stimulus package totalling around 470 billion euros to be channelled into infrastructure projects and industrial restructuring. Measures to increase efficiency and promote environmental protection are also envisaged and these themes will be central to ACHEMASIA.’

Despite the economic climate, ACHEMA 2009 achieved a major success with over 173,000 visitors. The view of UK exhibitors was very positive. Many companies reported what an excellent show it had been for them with good lead generation and new opportunities for the future.
