Meiji Techno UK, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of light microscopes and accessories, is pleased to announce Jonathan Hair as the winner of the 2009 Deserving Young Driver award. Jonathan, a mechanical engineer with a first class degree from the University of Bath and now working with Rolls Royce, is driving in the BARC Dunlop Clubmans Cup series in a Mallock Mk28 EBX sports racing car painted in the livery of Meiji Techno.

With many sales of their microscopes in the motor racing and engineering sectors, Meiji saw this as an excellent opportunity to help a young driver make his first steps towards a possible career in motor sports.

Commenting on the selection, Meiji Techno UK Managing Director, Richard Fry, said he was impressed with Jonathan’s experience of motorsport engineering and his drive to invest his own time and money to join a competitive racing team. "Jonty has already driven in four races this season gaining podium finishes in two. We are now looking forward to his first win. It is good to be watching a car decked in Meiji’s colours and

helping a fine young man start his career."
