The Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has announced its launch of the Advanced Technology Showcase (ATS) event to be held in central London on the 18th March, 2009. STFC expenditure on research and development in the UK. will be approximately £787 million between 2008 and 2009. This event highlights U.K. excellence in advanced technologies including Space with speakers and exhibitors from both industry and academia. “We are expecting 300 delegates and 50 high tech exhibitors at the ATS event. This is an ideal venue not only

for networking and establishing relationships with the UK.’s advanced technology and space groups, but also for companies in the industrial, aerospace and defence sectors looking for new partners and technologies” said Dr. Liz Towns-Andrews, Director of Knowledge Exchange, STFC. The ATS event will be held at One Great George Street, Westminster, London. The Science and Technology Facilities Council, formed in April 2007, is an independent, nondepartmental public body of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). The STFC has 7 facilities

throughout the U.K. including Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.
