High-throughput microarray platform for scalable genomic analysis

25 May, 2026

The Applied Biosystems™ SwiftArrayStudio™ Microarray Analyzer from Thermo Fisher Scientific is designed for fast, scalable sample analysis. Paired with the Applied Biosystems Axiom™ PharmacoPro™ Array and the Axiom™ PangenomePro Array, the platform integrates key genotyping workflows into a single system, enabling broader population coverage for genome-wide association studies and accelerating advances in pharmacogenomics and precision medicine.

The platform combines four key genotyping steps, reducing the need for multiple instruments and specialist training. Designed for scalability, it delivers results in as little as 30 hours and reduces hands-on time by up to 40%, helping laboratories improve throughput and efficiency.

The arrays support applications in genome-wide association studies and pharmacogenomics, enabling broader population coverage and deeper insight into genetic variation, including rare and common haplotypes.

The system is designed to support a wide range of applications, from population-scale genotyping to translational research, offering flexibility as demand for genetic data grows.

Researchers highlighted improved versatility and performance for pharmacogenetic profiling, while the platform is also positioned to expand into areas such as epigenetics, agrigenomics, and reproductive health research.
