Analysers
Anton Paar is proud to announce the launch of the Autosorb 3300, a next-generation flow chemisorption analyser designed to redefine usability, automation, and analytical reliability in catalyst characterisation. Combining innovative engineering with advanced thermal management and intelligent gas handling, the Autosorb 3300 brings high-end R&D performance within reach of industrial quality control laboratories and budget-conscious academic institutions alike.
Reliable catalyst characterisation demands repeatable, reproducible, and user-independent results. The Autosorb 3300 addresses these requirements through a fundamentally redesigned user experience that eliminates many of the manual steps traditionally associated with chemisorption analysis.
One of the instrument’s standout innovations is its fully automated sample loading and sealing mechanism. Instead of manipulating small fittings to secure sample cells, users simply place the measurement cell into the furnace. The Autosorb 3300 automatically seals the cell into position — without manually closing the furnace. This streamlined workflow minimises operator variability and significantly improves ease of use, even for inexperienced users.
This instrument also introduces a powerful new approach to high-temperature catalyst studies. Its compact furnace achieves temperatures up to 1,200°C and heating rates of up to 100°C per minute, while remaining safe to touch on the outside thanks to an integrated liquid cooling system. This unique design virtually eliminates burn risk and enhances operator confidence during routine operation.
To further simplify laboratory workflows, the Autosorb 3300 features programmable built-in gas blending that reduces gas cylinder inventory and provides complete flexibility for customised methods. Users can easily reproduce established activation protocols and temperature-programmed experiments while rapidly adapting instrument parameters for future applications.
Pulse titration - a cornerstone technique in chemisorption analysis - has also been significantly advanced. The Autosorb 3300 incorporates four pre-calibrated gas injection loops that can be automatically selected during an experiment according to user-defined software methods. Traditionally, changing injection loops requires manual hardware modifications and recalibration procedures. By automating this process, the Autosorb 3300 dramatically improves efficiency while ensuring industry-leading repeatability through precise pressure and temperature control of injected gas volumes.
“The Autosorb 3300 was developed to remove barriers to high-quality chemisorption measurements,” said Dr Martin Thomas, Autosorb 3300 Product Manager. “By combining advanced automation, operator safety, and exceptional analytical performance, we are making reliable catalyst characterisation more accessible than ever before.”
The Autosorb 3300 expands Anton Paar’s comprehensive portfolio of porous materials characterisation solutions and complements the company’s established range of physisorption and static chemisorption instruments.
