Advanced laboratory testing and digital workflow solutions launch in India

Three analytical and digital systems have been introduced to help Indian laboratories increase productivity, strengthen data quality and meet regulatory requirements

India’s pharmaceutical, food, environmental and industrial laboratories face greater pressure to process high sample volumes while they maintain quality, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Agilent Technologies has launched three laboratory solutions in India: the Agilent 9500 Triple Quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) system; the 8890B and 8860B gas chromatography (GC) systems with GC Assist; and OpenLab Sync, a laboratory execution system (LES).

The technologies address analytical performance, instrument productivity and workflow execution. Agilent said that they would help laboratories manage higher workloads, improve consistency and provide broader access to advanced analytical capabilities.

“India’s laboratories play a critical role in ensuring the quality of medicines, food, water and manufactured products that people rely on every day,” said Nandakumar Kalathil, country general manager for India at Agilent Technologies. 

“As testing requirements continue to grow across industries, laboratories are looking for ways to improve productivity without compromising quality,” he added.

The Agilent 9500 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS system has been designed to support reliable elemental analysis of complex sample matrices. Its applications include pharmaceutical testing, food safety, environmental analysis and advanced materials research. The system uses novel technologies to reduce analytical interference and simplify routine operation.

The 8890B and 8860B GC systems use integrated monitoring, diagnostic functions and guided maintenance to support instrument availability. Agilent said that earlier identification of potential problems could reduce unplanned downtime, improve productivity and support consistent data quality.

OpenLab Sync replaces paper-based laboratory procedures with guided digital workflows at the bench. The system helps personnel to follow approved methods consistently, improves traceability and audit readiness, and reduces reliance on manual processes. It can also help laboratories to standardise operations and address workforce development and training requirements.

Agilent unveiled the products at a customer event in Mumbai attended by scientists, laboratory leaders and quality professionals from the pharmaceutical, food, environmental, chemical and research sectors. Company representatives and customers discussed changing laboratory requirements, workforce trends and opportunities to widen access to advanced analytical technologies.

The products are now available throughout India. Agilent has also introduced WhatsApp for Business in the country, which provides customers with an additional channel for product information, service assistance and support.
